Historic Sites of the Jeju April 3rd
Keunneolgwe
Site Overview
After the village was burnt down in the middle of November 1948, Donggwang villagers hid inside Keunneolgwe for 2 months. At that time, around 120 people were living in this cave. In early 1949, Keunneolgwe was found by the army and villagers ran to Mt. Halla. Unfortunately, they were caught near Bolleh Oreum and shot to death or sent to Seogwipo. Among them, around 40 people were killed near Jeongbang Falls.
